We partnered with Bishop Museum to pilot a grant-writing program.
For our inaugural program, Nonprofit GrowthGen developed and launched a sixteen-week mentoring and training program covering project development, grant-seeking, and grant-writing basics. Along with a pilot cohort of six Bishop Museum staff members from various backgrounds including science, education, library archives, and administration, we tested and refined program flow and materials. Each participant attended live classes, worked on asynchronous homework assignments, and partnered with each other and collaborated with the group to prepare a full grant application packet for a matched funder.
Three of the participants submitted their proposals for funding and each of those was awarded!

This course was a combination of live instruction, asynchronous work, and individualized mentoring. Over three weeks, thirteen participants joined us for an orientation to the world of grants and foundations, to search for funders on various platforms, and start creating proposal materials. Now, we're working with each participant on their own next steps to increased organization capacity!
